Pricing FAQ

Do I need to pay to use Printie?

No. Printie is free to use. You only pay when a product is produced and fulfilled.

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing includes material cost per gram, setup fees per plate and per color, and one flat order fee per fulfilled order. Optional packaging or post-processing is only added when requested.

Why is the price broken out instead of shown as one simple print cost?

Because grams alone do not tell the whole story. Setup, handling, QC, packing, and color complexity all affect fulfillment cost, especially on very small parts.

Why does plate count matter?

Because each plate is a real production event. More plates usually mean more setup and handling. Cost only drops when the production plan itself becomes more efficient.

Can batching lower the cost?

Yes. When multiple units fit on one plate, setup cost gets shared across those units and the per-item total drops.

How are shipping costs calculated?

Shipping is finalized separately once destination, package dimensions, and shipment contents are known. A real-time shipping calculator is being added to make planning easier earlier in the process.

Do you support multicolor printing?

Yes. Printie currently supports multicolor production on Bambu Lab AMS-based printers with up to 8 colors in limited capacity, plus limited dual-nozzle / H2C capacity.
